This week we did a skills lab bandaging each others hands. In this lab, we drew a vertical "cut" on the palm of your "patient" hand and followed a figure 8 bandage pattern. We had to ensure there are no wrinkles, proceed to tape in place when done, then confirm good fingertip perfusion afterwards.
Other than that, we did a discussion post on theorists. I chose George J. Annas, one of the most powerful bioethicists, and an expert in health law, especially regarding patients' rights. He speaks to the ethical treatment that needs to take place in regard to the patient, focusing on such principles as autonomy, consent, and rights to privacy in healthcare settings. Annas has not defined a specific "theory," but his works often bring together the focus on human rights and the law as it applies to healthcare
