Today, Ms. Grantham came today us for our second day and brought her partner (Estie). Her partner, once failing service school, was trained for about 10 months in being an electronic storage device searcher. Detection dogs can smell the chemical (TPPO), which is used to reduce overheating, in the devices.
Sergeant Grantham has installed in her students that the first thing should always do is search the person's phone. She then began to talk about her own problems with her own 15year (step) daughter's social media experience.
At the young age of fifteen, her stepdaughter was talking to a 30-year-old man on the app Kik. Because of the lack of technology back then and the new exposure to the internet (and wifi), Ms. Grantham was not able to realize it sooner. She then later on discussed with us the danger behind screens and how everything stays.
Everyone these days has an iPhone. They can always be tracked and listened in on. You never know who is actually behind the screen and what could be found later on even if you think it is "deleted".
