This week we made salsa, chicken & black bean lettuce tacos, taco seasoning, and pepper nachos. We also, on Mrs.McClearys sick day, toured the cafeteria under the supervision of Mrs.Cheryl.
When preparing our pepper nachos, Kennedie and I were in charge of cutting up the tomatoes used for the salsa. After putting everything in the bowl we put half in a blender and the other half is left alone.
When it came to the taco seasoning, Daniel was the head chef. After the taco meat was made we grabbed our peppers as our alternative to chips. While many students put toppings like sour cream or salsa, I kept mine plain with just the pepper and meat. Although I'm not a fan of peppers, this was one of my favorites.
Lastly, we made chicken lettuce tacos. We had spare chicken in the freezer from a previous meal which we used this time around. While it was heated in the pan, we added black beans and onions. Then, the lettuce was cut up and we inserted the chicken inside.
While touring the cafeteria, we were able to see the behind-the-scenes and get to know the wonderful ladies that serve our lunch.
